One game and done syndrome

So, the Pens are up by 2. They are hot but they aren't really streaking - just getting the job done. Crosby hasn't been the offensive threat he has been in previous play-offs with registering less than a point a game - first time he's done that for a while.

But, the Sharks will win game 3. Why? Well, that's because Hockey goes. They will be riled up and wanting to put to bed their poor execution from their first two games this finals. From puck drop they will be banging bodies, chipping the puck in and trying to capitalize more from the wide open points that Pittsburgh just doesn't give a shit about.

Guys in the locker room will have a point to prove. In doing so we'll see more blocked shots, hits, shots on net, face-off wins etc. You name it, and they'll have it - all in favor of the Sharks.

But, as the story always goes. Pittsburgh will just absorb this one game and done syndrome. Come back in game 4 to win and then go on to lift the cup in 5. At home.

This is what I call the one game and done syndrome - it's pretty common.
